Preservation and Digitization (Negatives) of the audiovisual work filmed by Camilo Correa on April 9, 1948

The fundamental achievement of this project is the finding of 36 min. 21 sec of ORIGINAL moving images, contained in cellulose nitrate support, image negatives in 35 mm format, of the historical events that occurred during and after April 9, 1948, filmed by Camilo Correa and Charles Riou for the Noticiero Colombia de the Procinal company, which are of great importance due to their historical, social and cultural value.

Another most important achievement obtained with the execution of the scholarship is having carried out the digitization, due to the risk of physical deterioration and loss of information due to being supported on cellulose nitrate film, a highly combustible support, and with it the preservation of that evidence. that constitute part of the memory of the country.

For the above reasons, these film records are, due to their extrinsic and intrinsic nature and the values mentioned, testimonies that are part of the documentary heritage of the nation and can be included in the list of Assets of Cultural Interest.
